Tips

  • Go for the omakase. It allows the yakitori chefs to produce a customized feast of their specialties. - Inspector
  • Best yakitori in New York. Get the omakase and be specific about your favorite type of meats. I recommend asking for as much offals as you can get. The liver is creamy and the heart, sweet and tender.
  • Pork belly with garlic miso is supa oichi!
  • Grilled avocado is amazing.
  • Yes, listen to everyone else and go with the Omakase. The wagyu is quite delicious as well although a bit pricey at $15.
  • Make sure to sit at the bar. This is a true authentic yakitori restaurant.
  • An eatery which you would want to re-visit and enjoy the good food and genuine Japanese atmosphere
  • Probably best yakitori I've ever had. We ordered our chicken medium rare. Highest level of respect for chicken. Shoulder, heart, gizzard, breast, everything was succulent. Get omakase for $60.

  • 1st time? May wanna go omakase but then focus on ur favs: lotus chicken app, duck w/broth seasonal item, & chicken oyster and meatball skewers. Lovely experience. Dat lemongrass shaker seasoning!
  • Chefs grill nearly every part of the chicken over coals thighs, breasts, knee bones, arteries, oysters, skin, ribs and hand over the morsels as if this were a sushi bar.
  • Nice skewers, but the rest of the Omakase menu was not the same quality /standard. So sad... Definitely a little overrated
  • Wow, this place lives up to its reputation. For two people, I highly recommend the Omakase, which provides multiple courses of various chicken skewers and seasonal vegetables and more!
  • Get the skewer sampler if its your first visit. The food is incredible and the service is outstanding.
  • So while you might be tempted to order a la carte here, you shouldn't. Whenever chicken is involved, Tori Shin gets it right.
