Foursquare Tips

  • This is a cozy neighborhood cafe with an atmosphere that's like an arts & crafts bungalow meets library interior and oldies music from the 1940s are playing.
  • Ask about their amazing spinach salad!
  • There's a stash of old Grantas in the Elm Room.
  • Hold a giant warm mug in both hands and gaze out the window at the rain you're not in.
  • Delicious coffee and usually excellent dessert selection.
  • Large 4-shot mocha = double-plus good.
  • I want to go here
  • Nice comfortable place to enjoy coffee and great coffee cake. A little on the pricey side for Portland.
  • The tea should probably be a little stronger in the lattes.
  • Espresso and friendly service with acoustic jams
  • You must try the fantasy cake.
  • Pros: tropical iced tea was great and the tables are huge (good study options). Cons: expensive for what you get and wifi only lasts 3 hrs.
  • Great atmosphere, soothing music, free wifi, cheap refills. What more can you ask for?
  • The atmosphere at Palio is reason enough to go, let alone the amazing coffee they serve!
  • Watch the bikes go by...gorgeous homely place.
  • Great cake. Good espresso drinks. Large tea list. This place is a hidden gem.
  • If you haven't got cash and'll want refills, open a tab; there's a $5 minimum for cards. The pastries are OK, but I'd go for the cake. WiFi resets haphazardly (probably an ISP torrent deterrence).
  • Excellent tea selection, a mini library in the back... Great place for studying or hanging out. Desserts are fantastic.
  • Palio is great neighborhood coffee shop, with big tables, lots of outlets, and a small but tasty menu of noshes.
  • They should just do a 50 charge for credit card purchases under $5 like other mom-&-pop coffee places in town. All I want is a coffee, I shouldn't be forced to buy more.
