Tips

  • Chef Joncarl Lachman presents refined Northern European-inspired cooking in a spare East Passyunk corner BYOB. The herring and chopped liver are magnificent.
  • From the moment we dove into a bread bowl of house-baked Swedish farm crackers and a loaf of coarse barley bread, ripped peasant-style and charred on the grill, we knew we had a winner.
  • At his East Passyunk Avenue BYOB, Joncarl Lachman serves scallops with mustard soup, caviar, tarragon oil, and rye croutons.
  • Bitterballen, rabbit confit, and bread pudding-all excellent! Great server too. EPX constantly raising the bar!!!
  • Sure, they're on the cusp of the 6 month Eater 38 cutoff, but Joncarl Lachman's Noord is so unique for Philly and so fantastic that they earn a spot on our illustrious list. [Eater 38 Member]
  • Great food, great service and the chef/owner Joncarl Lachman is awesome. We had a salmon dish, mussels and a meatloaf special which were all delicious. We will be back.
  • Friendly staff and cute atmosphere. The soft-shell crab was very good.
  • BYOB, seafood
  • Food was great. However, they need to control those wine/champagne being open because one cork barely missed hitting someone in the face. 4 bottles popped during my lunch there.
  • Super good food. Get the cider pork.
  • The salmon chowder is amazing!
  • The Rabbit was to die for! All the salads were delightful and I had to give my server a hug at the end of the meal!
  • Scandinavian food at its best.
  • Whole fish bass with mussels was a great choice. Staff extremely friendly.
  • At this Northern European BYOB Chef Lachman serves scallops in a traditional soup of mustard and vegetable puree, reminiscent of one of Vincent Van Goghs supper staples.
  • Can't go wrong here. Everything here is fabulous. Fish preparations are especially delicious
  • tried two kinds of stew on the specials list. never felt more like a viking; a sexy, fulfilled, totally-thrilled-about-life viking. oh, and the almond butter cake was a taste-fueled, decisive win!
  • Simply Amazing
  • Eat outside!
  • Get the butter cake for dessert
