Tips

  • Make sure you notice the (now) vintage 80s artwork. This place is frozen in a very different time.
  • The best blueberry pancakes in the world!
  • Sit down for lunch at Michaels and you're sure to spot a few celebs, like David Patrick Columbia of New York Social Diary. And follow Michaels on Twitter for a list of the literati in attendance.
  • See and be seen at this stellar restaurant. Try to grab a table in the Garden Room to dine surrounded by art from Jasper Johns, David Hockney and Frank Stella.
  • Do ask the price of the catch of the day, before ordering. Today's Dover sole was $75, considerably above most of the entres.
  • While the famous Waldorf salad is beautiful, its too tangy and unbalanced. Preferred the cauliflower side. Def an old media hangout: Strahan, Rather & Carl Bernstein all in the corner
  • pricey... but this place is such a time capsule from the 80s-90s that its almost worth it. food is actually pretty good.
  • beautiful dining room and great spot for a long long lunch in midtown - a place to be seen and not seen.
  • Super expensive but great for a power lunch. Staff is very nice and makes you feel like a regular...even if your not.
  • Great salmon eggs benedict
  • Have a breakfast meeting here!
  • very cool spot to see celebrities
  • Good for breakfast but a little pricy for what you get.
  • While I didn't like Peninsula bar, I loved this bar/restaurant. Great chef and diverse menu - small plates through nice entrees. Good mixed crowd. Try the duck confit tacos!!
  • A bit stuffy but great food. Fried polenta with goat cheese and a golden beet was out of this world. Nice big room in the back for private events
  • The Salmon Tartare & Ros Champagne was delicious. Very friendly atmosphere
  • Overrated. They cannot seem to differentiate between "small" and "large" plates. And they charge for bread. #cranky
  • Never again! Overpriced, ice cold food, no bartender. The waitress was the bartender! They charge for a roll, $3.Never again. Pretty place, zero personality. Hot drink came out cold, food was cold!
  • Stay away! Place was empty on Sat night. Waitress doubled as bartender - drinks horrible. Food all came put ice cold and they screwed up my order. Menu far too limited for restaurant of this price.
  • A beautiful place with a very personable owner who visits every table. Creative diverse menu . Eggplant ravioli is especially delightful.
