Tips

  • Everything I ate was amazing, fried green tomatoes to basil lemonade
  • Loved the shrimp and grits and the poached pear pancakes.
  • Shrimp and grits are awesome
  • The premise behind this stylish nonprofit restaurant is to serve as home base for a 12-week training program that gives fledgling cooks a way out of homelessness and poverty.
  • Crawfish Hash!! Yum!!
  • I just love the chicken n' waffles!
  • Fannie recommends the watermelon aqua fresca. It's fantastic!
  • New drink on the menu to add to the basil lemonade -- some kind of watermelon mint thing. Quite good. BLT was heaven. Seriously. Never had a sandwich that I was actually sad to finish.
  • The pulled pork sandwich was better than the one from Pork Shoppe
  • Happy Father's Day!
  • It truly lives up to its name! I love the concept! The food is excellent, though they ran out of their signature dishes when we went. Good reason to come back! Free parking is a plus.
  • The food is hit or miss, not as consistent as its sister restaurant in Uptown. It is a great cause and close to the Green line stop (conservatory), and there is parking.
  • This spot serves up some of the best food in the city and not just for the price. Try their omelets, gumbo, and daily pancake and French toast specials which round out the short but sweet brunch menu.
  • Awesome staff, delicious food, great mission. Try the quinoa burger or whatever they've got on special.
  • Try the banana nut bread French toast: it's a Harry Met Sally experience
  • love this place...
  • Try the BLT sandwich for lunch, it is fabulous!
