Foursquare Tips

  • Staff Pick! Stephanie (Education): Gen has high-quality, fresh sushi at good prices. The patio out back is a lovely spot for dining in the spring and summer. Enjoy the green or red bean ice cream.
  • This is really the best sushi in all of Brooklyn. It's served the way it should and always go for the Chef special.
  • Early bird special Tu-Thu from 5:30-7:30p. Delicious!!
  • Try to get ten don if you can, although sometimes the servers will insist it's only on the lunch menu.
  • Brunch specials are tasty & delicious but order a side to be full!
  • A hidden "gen"
  • Short ribs & soba noodles
  • The Traditional Breakfast brought me back to Japan. Try it if you've spent time living in Japan or want to embrace traditional food, it's not easy to find! Yaki-salmon, unagi-maki, kinpira, and NATTO!
  • Came in for take-out maki lunch special. Haven't eaten yet, but they're playing Aphex Twin, which at least indicates they have good taste in music!
  • The staff is pleasant, the food presentation is awesome, and it tastes great. The prices are also great, I will come here again.
  • Try the lunch box at brunch. Its always delightful.
  • They have peruvian style sushi which is rare
  • Be nice and come back often.
  • good sushi...
  • Staff Pick! Richard (Membership): Genuine no frills Japanese cuisine on Washington Ave
  • Strangelyand unfortunatelythe appetizers were much tastier than any of the sushi we tried.
  • I'm not going to lie, this was one of the best meals I've ever had. Try a bunch of appetizers and special rolls and don't forget dessert!
  • Enjoyable neighborhood Japanese spot. I liked the pork katsu curry (pictured) and the gyoza, but the chirashi and nabeyaki udon also looked good!
  • A well rounded sushi menu that's budget friendly, but doesn't compromise on freshness. Sit outside whenever weather allows
