Foursquare Tips

  • Place your order (beverage and food orders are taken at different locations) and seat yourself at Alex Stupak's latest venture. Make sure to order the Al Pastor taco.
  • Empellon al Pastor opens today! This Mexican restaurant will have meat shaved from a vertical spit, plus a handful of other taco fillings, along with some sides and drinks. Mon, 10/20.
  • But the kale and chorizo side for $4 and the 6 tortillas side for $2 for some awesome kale and chorizo tacos!
  • Great vibe, good food. Not for feasting like Taqueria Diana - more for drinking tequila and messing with a few tacos. Bartender Mark is the man
  • I appreciate that this place celebrates street art all over trying inside and outside of their space.
  • Empellon al Pastor is an amazing new causual taco place from the based gawd of mexican food, Alex Stupak. I love the menu, especially the al pastor. They also NAIL the chips.
  • Mexican food is hard to screw up. This place had horrible food. It was actually repulsive.
  • happy hour on a Saturday until 7pm - drinks were 2 for 1
  • Delicious tiny tacos and really good sauces/salsas for chips.
  • These tacos are so good, you'll need a change of pants. Get the Al Pastor or Tripe.
  • Delicious tacos but they are not that good for margaritas...
  • chorizo and potato taco is killer
  • Cheeseburger tacos are good. The food and drinks are decent. They had ONE bartender working the whole place (food and drinks) so the service sucks.
  • When you can't decide just order a bunch of tacos like we did: the Al Pastor, Mushroom, Pork Tongue, & Cheeseburger!
  • Yep, al pastor is the best--over chicken, chorizo, and pork tongue
  • great tacos but not sure about the tortillas. Come during happy hour (M-F 4-7) to get 3 dollar tacos
  • Great Mexican food on St. Marks. As others have said, you can't go wrong with the Al Pastor Tacos!
  • You should have no problem ordering a ton of tacos at 11:30 p.m. Order the namesake al pastor (intensely porcine swine with chile and pineapple), as well as the insanely beefy tripe and tongue tacos.
  • Al Pastor tacos are awesome. Chips and gauc are great too.
  • This is a really fun and cheap place in East Village. Tacos are solid, not mind-blowing, but definitely get the juicy short rib tacos. The spicy cucumber margarita was delicious.
