Foursquare Tips

  • 1308 Cantina is owned by the Laurenzo family, whose matriarch Mama Ninfa popularized tacos al carbon in Houston.
  • Skip beer and sangria and go to the Margs. Also the fajitas are the best in town!
  • The steak fajitas are so good I wonder why I would order anything else. But I feel the same way about the enchiladas and the brisket flauta and the tamales and the chorizo. And the green sauce.
  • Great steak - almost like Churrasco's
  • Guava Margarita and ceviche. Yum!!
  • Get a frozen margarita with grand marnier...two will give you the perfect buzz here...also do the cheese enchiladas with ranchero sauce instead of chili
  • Best carnitas in town!
  • Probably the best TexMex in Houston. Killer margaritas. Damn good fajitas. Try the quail if you're a fan.
  • Great margaritas, customizable! Salsa verde is very fresh and homemade. Service is not great but food is worth it.
  • Awesome fajitas, excellent service and amazing mango margaritas! :)
  • Everything is amazing! Fresh guacamole, really great queso made for sharing, cheese enchiladas are the bomb. My favorite Mexican restaurant in Montrose.
  • Pricy, but worth it. Good crab quesadillas. Excellent margaritas.
  • Unimpressed. Will not be back.
  • Crab meat Nachos a must.
  • Mango margaritas a must!!
  • The food has never disappointed, but it's very expensive for Mexican food. It's more of a "place to be seen" than a desirable dinner destination.
  • Fantastic service, great food, and strong drinks. Add this one to your list!
  • The service was a little slow and one guest in my party had a hair in his food, but other than that the food was awesome.
  • Kinda expensive but very tasty.
