Tips

  • Quiet atmosphere; almost feels like a library. Sandwiches are great, they really pile on the meat.
  • Love the food, but be warned: this place is a CLUSTER at lunch.
  • Their pear-ginger tarts are great, especially if you're like me and you like familiar flavors with a slight twist.
  • Crawford on whole wheat, add apple slices. Delicious.
  • Chickpea lemon soup is amazing. The soup here tends to be very good in general.
  • Great place but can be slow. If you're in a hurry grab a special or other pre made sandwich and beat the line.
  • 10Mbps internet. Power strips under the seats. Breakfast on weekdays VERY strictly ends at 10:30 AM.
  • One of the best spots for breakfast sandwiches in Cambridge.
  • Hard to go wrong with The Hancock (a mound of smoked salmon covered in cream cheese, tomatoes, and a fried egg) and a cream soda.
  • Peanut butter cream cookies are to die for.
  • Mmmmmmmmm mmmmm
  • Some favorites from our review: The Longfellow, one of Darwin's most popular offerings, is a favorite for a good reason. The ham sandwich is transformed with apple slice, aged cheddar, and dijon.
  • florentine cookies are amazing
  • Really good Coffee! The teas are good too. Favorite sand. is the the Prescott.
  • No breakfast sandwiches before 8am. Boo.
  • The shop specializes in breakfast, lunch and vegetarian sandwiches. Great choice for those who want a tasty breakfast with no wait.
  • Staff is great. Food is delicious. And, you can order(and pay) for half sandwiches! Yum
  • Disappointed with MassArt egg sandwich, which was pretty bland-tasting. Some desserts were pretty good -- Florentine and Black Tuxedo cookies are great.
  • Get the hovey on brioche and add a tomato. Get there early to grab a table in the window. Earl grey latte and one of the NYT papers for patrons makes for a great time.
  • Its all about the Franklin sandwich. Also, they have beer now!
