Tips

  • The best things to eat are on the laminated menu they give you. They also happen to be the best bargains (ie: $6 for a cauldron of housemade noodles, $6 for a dozen handmade dumplings, etc). Don't bot
  • You don't go to a place like Chinatown Express to get chop suey. So sack up and order something that sounds more authentic, like the beef noodle soup w/ brisket!
  • This hole in the wall is a real hidden gem, they make their own noodles by had fresh everyday. I recommend the delicious Fresh Noodle Soup with Roast Duck.
  • Absolutely one of my favorite places to eat for years! The fresh noodles are incredible in soup or fried!
  • Get the Chicken Noodle Soup, it's awesome! Great flavor, low in fat, and VERY cheap!!!
  • This place was absolutely terrible.. some of it was cold.. sauce sucked.. chicken had bones. Dont go there.
  • A great spot for celebrating the Chinese new year with excellent dishes offered like Peking duck, BBQ pork, Singapore-style noodles as well as dishes including their own homemade noodles.
  • Great lil place!! Def coming back!!
  • My fav dishes: fresh noodle soup (duck, veggie, all good) and green leaf vegetable
  • Avoid the entire menu they hand you. I've tried various dishes on it and they all come out soupy and oily. That said, order anything they are making/hanging in their front windows. Noodles, meats, etc
  • Best fried noodles I've ever had. Also the steamed veggie dumplings are amazing - try them with the condiments that are on the table = amazing
  • Noodles and dumplings are the best.
  • Pork Dumplings.
  • Roast duck noodle soup is bomb
  • The Noodle Soup with Roast Duck is delicious.
  • Terrible. If you've ever had good Chinese food, then you'll hate this. The famed handmade noodles in soup were overly doughy. Duck was especially fatty. The dumplings were tiny and tasteless and dry.
  • Overrated. Dumpling were nasty. Duck so fatty. Service rude. I would not go again.
  • The best Chinese food I've had in DC. Go for broke on the dumplings, your mouth will thank you. http://www.allmenus.com/dc/washington/53536-chinatown-express/menu/
  • Had a pork bun, steamed dumpling, and fresh noodle soup with seafood. It's not greasy and salty comparing typical Chinese food but not that tasty as I expected. Don't expect any special taste here.
  • The meat was mushy (??) and the food was lukewarm at best. I couldn't stomach more than a few bites so I had to send it back. They microwaved it and handed it back! Allegedly has good noodles?
