Tips

  • Aaron Sanchez, of Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate, had one of his best holiday meals at the Latin American restaurant, Casa Adela. We recommend the Pernil. Find more tips at FN Local.
  • Must get oxtail soup!! Super flavorful. Chicken is succulent. Flan is to die for. Great authentic flavors of the island. Muy delicioso! Bring cash though (they don't accept credit cards here).
  • Arroz con Gondules with the Fried Pork-chops or Rotisserie Chicken. Put some mayo ketchup on the side. Just like Abuela used to serve.
  • Rotisserie chicken, pernil, mofongo, bacalao, and a lil bit of adela loooove
  • If Mama Adela agrees to make you her award-winning trefungo you're in for a special treat! Have it with pork & crackling
  • Try the sopa de pollo if you're in need of some good, homemade chicken soup.
  • The tostones and garlic sauce are delicious (and only 2 bucks!)
  • The hot pressed sandwiches are notable, too, including the roast pork pernil; the plain but delectable ham and cheese; and the Cuban sandwich, with cheese and dill pickles oozing out the sides.
  • Excellent monfongo - one of the best of the city. Pernil was rather disappointing
  • Casa Adela is run by Adela, who's been a Puerto Rican institution in our community for decades. The fresh roast chicken, rice and red beans only costs $8. Great deal.
  • I had the octopus salad with a slice of avocado and rice & peas/ ensalada de pulpo con aguacate y arroz con gandules! yum yum
  • Their rotisserie chicken and rice and beans is delicious!
  • I love going here every time I do laundry across the treet with my girls. The food is great and very family oriented.
  • The best bacalao hands down!!!
  • Her food saves the day! Today her soup saved my life!
  • Best pernil I've ever had. Just WOW.
  • The salmon is great. This is the most authentic Puerto Rican restaurant I've come across. It's been a neighborhood spot for decades.
  • Don't sleep on the Mofungo. So good.
  • So love the food here...
  • Food taste good. Service is horrible, makes me wonder if food preparation is the same.
