  • Cafe China serves all your Sichuan favorites in a dining room that evokes 1930s Shanghai. Standout dishes include spicy diced rabbit, baby black lamb, and "Szechuan pesto chicken." [Eater 38 Member]
  • Owner Xian here. For Chinese New Year (1/22), we are rolling out three new dishes: Lamb Hot Pot (), Steamed Pork in Lotus Leaves (), and Lightly Sauteed Chinese Broccoli ().
  • Try the mouth-watering chicken (with peanuts and sesame ) beyond expectation. Tea-smoked duck is huge portion & take long time to prepare - worth the wait :)
  • Lunch specials are key here. One of the few classy yet easy sit-down places (with waiter service) to get a inexpensive lunch in midtown.
  • You can adjust how spicy you want your Ma-Po Tofu :)
  • For a regular place, it is damn good. For a Michelin star, it was meh. Pork dumplings with chili oil was great.
  • Nom nom nom. Shredded pork is incredible as are the dumplings
  • The soup dumplings are an essential New York bite: Shanghainese xiao long bao with soy-vinegar- ginger sauce. More places to eat like a local:
  • 1 Michelin star, yo.
  • Get the Ma Po Tofu
  • Must: Husband and Wife, Tea Smoked Duck, and Chengdu Dumplings
  • Get Dan Dan noodles!! Coming in before 7pm dinner rush. They don't take reservations for party under 4.
  • Sample 3-pepper chicken with meat so tender, skin so crispy, & peppers so fiery that diners have been known to swoon. Green Guide Editor
  • Must get the pork dumpling in chili oil. So delish!!
  • Excellent! Get the wontons with chili sauce and the lamb cumin - both amazing! Not crazy about the duck or the tofu.
  • It's straightforward. Have the rabbit. Have the kung pao. Have the eggplant. Have the Mapo tofu. Smile.
  • Shredded beef with green chillies
  • Incredible Chinese food. Can't go wrong with any of the dishes.
  • What can you say? Extremely good, very affordable.
  • this is my best chinese restaurant in new york
