On a rainy day when you're spending more time at home, break out the rainbow play dough. Play dough is perfect for kids ages three to twelve. They can mold this classic craft into anything they want, from animals to their favorite city. This recipe is courtesy of McCormick.

Rainbow Play Dough
Total time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 cup salt
  • 1/4 cup mccormick® cream of tartar
  • 2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • mccormick® assorted food colors & egg dye
  • wax paper
Directions
  1. Mix flour, salt and cream of tartar in medium saucepan.
  2. Add water and oil; mix well.
  3. Add 20 drops of desired food color.
  4. Cook about 5 minutes on medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture holds together.
  5. (Have a grown-up do the cooking.)
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Scrape dough onto wax paper to cool.
  8. Knead slightly until dough is smooth.
  9. Store in an airtight container.
  10. May be kept for 2 to 4 weeks.
