Gazpacho is a Spanish classic, best made when juicy tomatoes are in season.

Our mom’s powerful margaritas are legendary among her friends, our friends, and friends of friends. Made with fresh lime juice, these are as good as margaritas get!

Serve these to your guests as they arrive; perfect for a risky-business themed party.

  • 5 cups tequila, preferably Cuervo Gold (so, it’s not top-shelf, but we’ve tried them all and this is the best)
  • 3 cups plus 2 tablespoons triple sec
  • 1 ¾ cups plus 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • Coarse salt

Combine all the ingredients except the salt in a large pitcher, add ice, and stir vigorously for about 30 seconds. Spoon out the ice cubes. Store the pitcher in the refrigerator until party time. Serve in glasses with salted rims.

Margarita Shopping Tip

Buy your booze in bulk – transfer what you need into smaller bottles to stock your bar – you’ll save money and have enough leftover for your next party.

Margarita Cooking Tip

Add another layer of flavor to your cocktails by making your own simple syrup – combine equal parts sugar and water with whatever aromatics you like – fresh herbs, whole spices, citrus, or chile peppers – heat to dissolve sugar and strain before using.
