Grapefruit & Black Pepper Daisy

Grapefruit & Black Pepper Daisy
4 from 1 ratings
Bonanno Brothers Pizza in Lone Tree, Colo. was inspired by the oven that was shipped over from Florence; the restaurant pays homage to the Art Deco era train station in Florence, and its drinks are just as creative. The restaurant serves up daisies, their incredible and unique homemade margaritas. This Grapefruit & Black Pepper Daisy is made with house-made grapefruit sour and a peppercorn syrup. It was crafted by the restaurant's beverage director, Adam Hodak.

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 ounce espolon blanco
  • 3/4 ounce dry curacao
  • 2 ounce fresh grapefruit juice
  • ground black pepper & large flaked salt for rim
  • lime wedge for garnish
  • 2 tablespoon black peppercorns
  • 1 quart of water
  • 2 quarts of sugar
Directions

  2. Using a fresh lime slice, wet the rim of a rocks glass and dip the rim in a mixture of ground pepper and margarita salt. Place ice in the rocks glass. With a martini shaker or separate glass, combine tequila, dry curacao, grapefruit juice and black pepper simple syrup (to taste). Pour mixture over ice in rocks glass, garnish with a lime and enjoy.
