A cheesy and easy state fair favorite that you can make at home. Crescent Dog on a Stick is baked instead of fried, making for a healthier version of a corn dog. Serve these festive snacks at birthday parties with homemade mustard and ketchup.
- 8 hot dogs
- 4 ¾-ounce slices American cheese, each cut into 6 strips
- 1 8-ounce can refrigerated crescent dinner rolls, such as Pillsbury™
- 8 wooden corn dog sticks
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Slit the hot dogs to within ½-inch of the ends. Insert 3 strips of cheese into each slit.
Separate the dough into triangles. Wrap a dough triangle around each hot dog. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet, cheese-side up.
Bake until golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes.
Insert 1 stick in each crescent dog, then serve.
