These Brazilian “truffles” are proof that good things come in small packages. Made with just one basic ingredients — sweetened condensed milk — they make the perfect decadent treat when you’re short on time or ingredients. You can roll these delicious candies in everything from coconut to sprinkles; these ones get a simple coating of cinnamon-sugar.
- 14 Ounces (one can) sweetened condensed milk
- Butter, for rolling
- 1 Tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/4 Cup sugar
Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a small saucepan and place the pan over medium-high heat.
Stirring constantly, cook the sweetened condensed milk until thickened. You’ll know it’s ready when you draw a line through the sweetened condensed milk and it takes a few seconds for the line to fill itself back in.
Pour the cooked sweetened condensed milk into a wide, shallow dish (like a heat-proof baking dish) and allow it to cool.
When the sweetened condensed milk has cooled, rub a small amount of butter on your hands and then roll the sweetened condensed milk into small balls.
In a small bowl, combine the cinnamon and sugar with a fork. Mix until well combined.
Roll the brigadeiros into the cinnamon sugar and then refrigerate until ready to serve.
