After the closure of Michael Landrum’s two D.C.-area locations of Ray’s Hell Burger, devotees despaired that they’d never again be able to enjoy these perfectly seared, ingeniously topped burgers. The third outpost, however, is still going strong, and thank goodness for that. Hand-trimmed, aged in-house, fresh-ground throughout the day, and hand-formed, these burgers, especially the original 10-ounce "Big Devil," are a sight to behold. If you’re feeling particularly adventurous, you can top yours with seared foie gras or roasted bone marrow. -Dan Myers

  • The best burger in DC! Don't forget the awesome milkshakes!!
  • The thick, charred steaks, platters mounded with great fried food, and creamy milkshakes are powerful enticements in a time of tightening wallets.
  • Wooooooooooooow yummy
  • Mike the owner is blowing it. As regulars we sit at the bar. He decided to remove seating at the bar and one high top table. Bring back the seating
  • Steak and cheese with a side of diablo sauce.
  • Gusher burgers are served starting at 2:00 pm on weekdays! All day on weekends.
  • The gusher is a burger filled with cheese!! The whole place smells delicious!
  • Minimalist Arlington eatery Ray's To The Third lets the mouth-watering steak frites do the talking, especially if you get them ultra, ultra rare. Their boozy milkshakes will give you the shakes.
  • They serve a good classic macaroni and cheese that's a great side for any of their delicious burgers.
  • You'll find some of the best burgers in the DC area here. I recommend The Dogcatcher: roasted bone marrow, persillade, lettuce and tomato.
  • Get your burger with: white truffle oil (on the Fat Joe); roasted bone marrow (on the Dog Catcher); or mushrooms sauted in sherry and Cognac (such as the Soul Burger No. 1 and the B.I.G. Poppa).
  • "[Michael] Landrums flagship, Rays the Steaks, contributes to the menu with strips and filets, but here, offers a bonus discounted three-course option." - November 2012 Issue
  • Steak & cheese!! Who needs Philly!!!!
  • Great addition to the RAY's family of restaurants. Same 5 star quality. This is the perfect combo of the high end steak house and burger joint.
  • Split the milkshakes. They're so rich they feel like a meal on their own.
  • Their golden fried shrimp is a must as well as the Hangar steak and frites
  • Devilishly good eggs live up to their name!
  • Bison burger diablo style with aged cheddar cheese.
  • If you like spicy get the big punisher burger
  • "It is a restaurant of our time. It is for the sequestered, the furloughed, the 99-percent who want to eat like the top tier. At Ray's a steak dinner--a good steak, a steak with integrity... $20.99."
