With their casual and comforting foods, chefs Lawrence McGuire and Thomas Moorman Jr. define freshness at Perla’s. The freshest catch from the Gulf of Mexico is flown in daily. If that’s not enough for you, the oyster bar and open kitchen should whet your appetite.

  • This seafood mecca serves lobster rolls coated in house-made mayo with (bonus!) a side of drawn butter. A must try!
  • Perla's has transformed a land-locked SoCo corner into a beachy cafe. It's hard to beat this place on a sunny afternoon for fresh oysters, grilled octopus, and a Caesar cocktail on the shady patio.
  • This seafood destination has an array of cocktails to match the cuisine. Bright flavors with a typically tropical flair incorporate house-made ingredients, and the cocktails never fail to refresh.
  • Must have the Kumamoto oysters - pairs nicely with sparking wine!
  • Love the food here...amazingly fresh fish and oysters. Great patio to dine outside under the trees.
  • Holy hell. The food here redefined my concept of life's purpose. It's now brighter, holier and more optimistic. Get Crab Florentine.
  • It's all about the appetizers, wood grilled oysters, grilled octopus and steamed mussels!
  • Loved the lobster roll and calamari appetizer. For oyster fans, there is a huge selection (I'm not one but went with people who raved about the oysters).
  • Try the Fried Shrimp Po' Boy
  • Fresh oysters and champaign. Mussels and Modelo. Misters to help keep you cool in the summer as you watch SoCo pass by.
  • Excellent prawns!
  • Parkside bartender Brian Rhoads comes here for the patio, great cocktail list, and knowledgable staff.
  • When in doubt, take Perla's name literally and choose the oysters. (Get it?) The 512 brewery pecan porter is also an excellent 24 oz. of beer to accompany your sea critters.
  • Pricey, but well worth it! Loved the heirloom tomato salad and clam soup. Bf liked his lobster roll.
  • Great great happy hour. 3-6 everyday of the week
  • The grilled octopus is the best seafood in Austin, which is why its on our list of The Tastes That Make the City: Austin.
  • Order the fresh oysters and the lobster bucatini. Done.
  • Awesome service and delicious food. Definitely recommend sitting barside if you're on a date or flying solo. Try anything and everything with cheese!!
  • Fresh seafood so good that you forget you're in land-locked Austin.
  • Grilled octopus appetizer mmmm. & 20$ pitchers of beer! asparagus side is also amazing!!!
