Bacon mania descends on New York City
Party Hard and Pig Out at Bacon Bash 2012

From drinkable bacon to Burger King’s buzzed-about bacon sundae blow-out, this has been the year for once-closeted bacon fanatics to come right out and downright celebrate their bacon fixation.

The first Bacon Bash 2012 is quickly approaching as a sort of culminating ceremony in our culture’s moment of fervent bacon-worship. Lovers of the "candy of meats" will gather in Times Square’s Arena Event Space June 23 to engage in some serious summertime bacon gluttony, with food from restaurants like Tommy Lasagna, Lucky 777 Chili Company, and Little Town NYC, among others. Bacon will make appearances in both savory and sweet treats, with boozy-cupcake purveyors Prohibition Bakery and Baconery (Bacon + Bakery) on site for sweet-tooth strikes. And if you’re really looking to party hard, bacon vodka shots will be available for whoever might be interested.

Just imagining the aromas that will waft through the city during this event should be enough to make you want to grab a ticket quick — ticket prices change as we get closer to the date, but one will get you admission as well as 50 percent off craft beers, plus a bacon vodka shot.

Once you get your fill of bacon, you can head over to Meatopia 2012 for a more all-inclusive meat party.
