A unique combination of juicy burgers, a European-meets-American approach to cuisine, and seafood fare describes chef Shawn Cirkiel’s Parkside in a nutshell. Cooking fresh and local is rooted in Cirkiel’s DNA, and he won’t serve up anything but the best.

  • At this Sixth Street newbie, chef Shawn Cirkiel serves elevated bar food like crab fritters, ricotta ravioli, classic steak tartare, and loup de mer with fennel vinaigrette.
  • Stop by this 6th street institution on Wednesdays for 1/2 price Oysters and Champagne. Great atmosphere for friends or an intimate dinner.
  • Best butt dimples on dirty Sixth.
  • parkside will be open for lunch during SXSW!
  • Anything raw at this place is really good.
  • Holy crap this restaurant is good. Sweetbreads & marrow were Amazing. Okra was killer. Ceviche, butternut squash, lamb all great.
  • For upscale American food in Austin, there is no better place than Parkside. Hit up the raw bar for oysters and five different kinds of scrumptious ceviche.
  • Try the bone marrow the right way: push the marrow out of the bone using the spoon, spread it on the bread, and add a pinch of salt.
  • Shawn Cirkiel's first restaurant has made its mark as a dining oasis on Dirty Sixth. They're an especially good bet for seafood, and the rooftop seating is lovely in good weather. [Eater 38 Member]
  • What a great spot. The lamb pastrami is amazing. Steak is tasty, properly cooked and tender. Definitely coming back here.
  • Don't miss the fried okra. It's cut on bias for more fried goodness. Also, loved the spring pea ravioli. Ask your server what's in season & local. (& the Driskell bartender rec'd the oysters here.)
  • Make sure you order ceviche, beef oyster, tounge, and ask for more bread!!!!! How come I never visited this place? Waiting for my entree, hope they're as good as the appetizers! :)
  • Don't sit at the bar unless you're capable of being completely stoic while watching hundreds of raw oysters go forth to other bellies. *droooool*
  • Katelyn is one of the best servers ever! Knowledgeable about the menu, fun and peppy, and just awesome!
  • The braised duck and salmon were extremely delicious.
  • Upscale American dining is a great description which equates to quality over quantity in this case. Amazing food, but portions are small. For dessert, pear cake and donuts are a win.
  • One of the best happy hours in Austin. Insanely good burger and fries, great cocktails and cool atmosphere right in the epicenter of dirty sixth. Also, it's every day of the week.
  • Start off the meal with the fried green tomatoes, which are crisp and firm, and the Texas onion rings, crunchy and sweet. But make sure to order the all-you-can-eat family-style BBQ dinner.
  • Raw Bar Bass is delish. Mac is good, and gnocchi is muy bueno.
  • Named because the location could have potentially been next to a park 200+ years ago.
