  • There is sometimes a pretty long wait, so don't wait until the last minute if you're hungry. I've waited across the street at Sam Bond's if the wait is particularly long.
  • Papa's sweet tea is THE best...its abs perfect. Don't skip it
  • Best fried chicken and BBQ in town!
  • Go on a Thursday, they have live Jazz. Also, get the ribs and one of the local beers.
  • Love the Mac and cheese and the BBQ food is the best around
  • Leave room for dessert.
  • Talk about great value. Arguably, the best in all of Eugene. Huge portions, great food, low prices. This place can't be beat for a dinner with friends.
  • Find the meat you want and get It in the sandwich meal. Half the price for a ton of food. Wash it down with a PBR Tall Boy.
  • Delicious! Fried okra was perfect! We also loved the fried cat and chicken!
  • Writing this for my future self: you like the baked beans & the BBQ chicken. The mac & cheese is the star tho!! Say no to red beans & rice & black eyed peas (although I know you'll want them).
  • Everything was great! BBQ Chicken sandwich was perfect. Try the soul fries and hush puppies for starters or sides.
  • it's great. I don't think you can go wrong.
  • Great food, but consider splitting a plate. Way too much food
  • Mac and cheese, cornbread, Kool-Aid drinks, soft shell crab sandwich
  • BBQ and jerked chicken are great, with a number of great sides!
  • Pulled pork was to die for. Beef brisket is amazing. Dat fat.
  • Check out Papa's Soul Food Kitchen as it was featured on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives for the soul food joint smoking the bomb barbecue bird and slinging their signature burger.
  • Fried chicken and briskit are amazing. Don't skip the mac and cheese.
  • Pork Ribs and fried oysters are the best.
  • This was a very good place when I was not a vegan. Very unfriendly to vegans but omnivores will love it.
