  • This Mexican playground from creator Jose Andres is a trailblazer. Thanks to recent expansion next door, it's also more comfortable than ever.
  • Authentic Mexican food is not one of DC's strengths, but Jos Andrs does it justice at Penn Quarter's Oyamel with, of course, the chef's signature twists. [Eater 38 Member]
  • Be nice to the food runners. The kitchens downstairs meaning they have to run up and down stairs all day with trays full of food. Glutes of steal though.
  • You must order the guacamole! It's delicious & made right at the table.
  • A combination of traditional Mexican flavors with a modern twist, Jos Andrs' restaurant in DC is the perfect place to sample some mescal.
  • Jose Andres Mexican restaurant. Everything is fantastic. Get the margarita with air.
  • Frida bathroom is awesome.
  • You really can't go wrong with any of the taco options here, but highly recommend the pescado Baja California, lengua guisada, carnitas estilo Michoacn, and pancita de puerco al pastor tacos.
  • Best dishes: tuna cheviche, brussels sprouts, camarones (shrimp), braised short ribs, chile en nogada (pablano stuffed pepper) and for dessert... de tres leches (amazing). Also get the fresh gauc.
  • The brunch menu here is outstanding.
  • I agree with Caleb! Be nice to the food runners... Just be nice to all service staff workers!
  • Try the grasshopper tacos. I'm not even kidding. Never had them before and they were DELICIOUS. I'm a total convert.
  • The guacamole, prepared tableside, its just out of this world!
  • The tacos here are damn good. Entrees were a bit small, so skip those in favor of the tacos. Margs & Guac were top notch. Would recommend.
  • Tenga chicken, BBQ pork, and fish tacos; perfection! And the tortilla chips and salsa are also fantastic!
  • Go to the ceviche bar and ask for Jason. His hands have been touched by the sushi gods.
  • Must try: guac served tableside. So fresh and yummy!
  • The Tres Leches cake is a must have!!!
  • The Mexican G&T - awesome!
  • Ceviche de chamoy is delicious and tender but very spicy - be aware. Oyamel margarita is very sweet. Go with the smoky ones instead.
