Tips
- This gourmet, small plates trailer is changing the way Austinites think about food trucks. The upscale truck changes its menu daily, so check their website. [Eater 38 Member]
- Odd Duck features a huge open kitchen and lots of homey touches like mismatched plates and country kitsch on the walls. Check out the chicken fried egg, kholrabi soup, and the whole roast chicken.
- This shiny, ultramodern brick-and-mortar matches the adventurous, farm-to-table cuisine. The superlative wine, beer, and cocktail list harmonizes with the whims of Bryce Gilmore's daily changing menu.
- Chef Bryce Gilmore owns the popular gastropub Barley Swine, but he got his start with a food truck called the Odd Duck. It still exists and sometimes he still mans the grill.
- Expectations were sky-high for Bryce Gilmore's second restaurant, and Odd Duck has surpassed them from the magnificent large format dishes to the playful brunch pastries. [Eater 38 Member]
- The redfish is delicious! By far one of my favorites.
- Amazing food! Pork belly, quail, quesadillas, rabbit- everything was tremendous! Try it all.
- Moscow Mules on tap, and the fresh ginger blows it out the park.
- Odd Duck has finally launched brunch on Sundays. Try the bear claw, it's massive!
- Basically a bigger Barley Swine...which means same good food, but shorter wait times. NOTE: Beware, the patio is a cold spot to sit during winter, so hold out for an indoor table.
- The pork shoulder is heavenly. Whenever they have it on the menu get it. Also, their tomatoes have been amazing lately.
- Not a fan of grits until my eyes were opened. Creamy, savory & cheesy with a perfectly poached duck egg. Brilliant.
- Great service and deliciously unusual flavours, like pork belly with pecan jerk sauce and pickled strawberries.
- The shrimp was delish!
- Odd Duck offers separate menus based on food allergies and preferences: dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free, Celiac, Pescatarian and Vegetarian.
- Tater tots a winner, pretzel!! a must have, the beans w/ LAMB bacon, hello! Brisket w/ sweet potato pure, OMG! Cookies youve never had in your life! I'm in heaven.
- Ridiculously fantastic! We waited 10min for a server BUT they flee deemed themselves w/ 3 complimentary appetizers, top notch service & impeccable food. Devine! Must go!
- Chef Gilmore is awesome.
- Leave it to your server! The food is amazing and if you let them handle it, it's paired brilliantly!
- Get the Moscow mule! Not too sweet. Nice and gingery.
