Tips

  • The tour literally whitewashes the history of slavery that is so key to understanding Plantation life. If you're interested in historical accuracy, go to Laura Plantation down the road.
  • 29 oak trees planted before house was built
  • If the place looks familiar, its where Brad Pitt's character, Louis, starts out in "Interview with a Vampire."
  • Beautiful, but the tour is kind of insulting. No real history unless you are super interested in how to make feather mattresses or run dinner parties. Didn't even say the word slavery.Very sanitized.
  • We love stepping back in time on a Plantation country day trip
  • Get your mint julep before the tour and end it drunk.
  • Recommend that if you come by car, try to arrive early. Hours between 9am to 10:30am are peaceful, with only a modest number of visitors, often by yourself.
  • So beautiful. The Mint Juleps are to die for!
  • Plenty of trees, very cool.
  • Try a mint julep!
  • Gorgeous scenery ...take many photos.
  • Really good tour. And really good mint julep, post-tour. Can't wait to come back
  • Do the tour as it's fascinating. Nice to see them highlight the human cost of the slavery used to build the plantation in the exhibits, rather than just brush it aside.
  • Oak Alley Plantation is now open! Power is restored, the grounds are cleaned up, and Oak Alley Plantation is 100% open for fun! Beginning Monday, we open for our regular business hours, 9am to 5pm.
  • Beautiful plantation!
  • It is gorgeous out here today!
  • Restraunt was sub par. Low quality food and service. Stay away from the etoufee.
  • If you have time, eat in the restaurant..get the daily special for amazing home cooking! Avoid the gift shop - WAY over priced.
  • check it out at night. the trees are pretty cool lit up!
  • Beautiful grounds to take pictures in and interesting history. The tour guide sounds incredibly scripted - and is not the greatest actor so.... the tour part is a little painful
