NYU’s Favorite Drunk Foods
Like any respectable college student, we love to drink. But as essential as getting drunk is in itself, what is also of great importance is what we eat once we reach that blessed state of inebriation. Five NYU students provided some insight on their favorite things to eat not sober.
“Falafel. Last year I was abroad in Florence and the only places open at 2 or 3 am were Shwarma places. It’s just the perfect combination.”
Do you have a favorite falafel in New York?
“I’ve only ever been to Mamoun’s.”
Does it compare?
“No but probably because I had it for lunch and not at 2 or 3 a.m…”
“Where do I even begin.”
Just try to name one food.
“Egg and Cheese. This one deli, their egg and cheese. It’s got like bread and protein and cheese. Which I feel are a sort of prerequisite to a good drunk food. And also anything saucy. Or spicy.”

“Because it soothes your stomach as well as your soul.”
Which pierogies are your favorite?
“Fried potato pierogies from Veselka, which just so happens to be open all the time but I only ever really go after 12 am.”
“My favorite drunk food is definitely pizza because what else pleasures all your senses and burns the roof of your mouth?”
“Pickles because pickles are always good. All the time, forever.”
What kind of pickle is your favorite pickle to eat drunk?
“Dill pickle spears. Because it’s a classic.
