Foursquare Tips

  • Don't be a douche, this bar is a great place because of the lack of douches. Take your douchebagery to the Old Port Tavern or Commercial Street Pub and enjoy your shots and Scudweiser.
  • Join the Uprising!
  • Try the beer.
  • Recommended by local chef Erik Desjarlais: "They have Maine beers, but consider the world local. Their keg system is more complex than most computer hard drives."
  • Can I get a bud light NO!!!! That is the way we like it
  • Best beer bar in Maine! I highly recommend going! You will find beers that you have never heard of before. Novare's food is also exquisite!
  • Only place I know I can order a single beer on a work night and won't remember the walk home.
  • Best advice ever: Try a beer you know nothing about. Seriously.
  • just tell shahin to surprise you...
  • Try the unibroue
  • By far the largest selection of beer in Portland. Stop in to try beers you've never heard of and some of your favorite hard-to-find brews!
  • Simply the best beer bar in the state of Maine. No kitchen, so eat a solid meal before you go, and maybe arrange to walk or get a sober driver as the incomparable beer list has many high octanes
  • Try the beer.
  • Make sure you know the price before you get them the bottle open for you;)... Its always good, but could be pricy.
  • Awesome low key bar with great beer selections both foreign and domestic. If you love beer and are in Portland, definitely think you need to check this place out
  • Possibly the best beer bar in New England, and they also have cornhole.
  • Try the Rogue Chipotle. Nice flavor not spicy.
  • We came hungry which was a mistake, this joint is definitely beer-centric with some grub thrown in. That said, great vibes, friendly bar staff and more beer options than you can handle.
  • Perhaps the best beer bar in Maine (which says a lot!). Tap-list is unreal - so well balanced between quality locals and obscure, though well curated, imports.
  • This is one of the few bars in Portland where I recommend NOT trying a local beer but instead learning about some of the amazing ones they have from around the world.
