Tips
- 7x7's Big Eat 2012 says the carnitas are delicious. Yum!
- Absolutely wonderful regional Mexican fare that is also local and sustainable. -Monica Pope, Top Chef
- The carnitas are a must...they're #53 on 7x7's Big Eat SF 2010.
- The best Bloody Maria. Everything is made there from the tortillas, chorizo verde to the cheese. Unreal. -Ryan B.
- what happens when white people in SF make Mexican food (it's a good thing)
- The veggie quesadilla is perfection.
- The organic almond horchata is AMAZING!
- The best palomas in the city--a tequila cocktail that's just now making it onto cocktail lists in the U.S. -Josh K
- Popsicles are a must-try. The chocolate cinnamon paleta is the most amazing fudgsicle you will ever eat.
- PORK CARNITAS. Slowcooked. Soft.
- get the tacos
- go during off-hours to avoid the wait.
- Call ahead to put your name on the waiting list. 415-535-3969
- The chorizo sandwich puts a spin on a diner classic. The spice list for the sandwich includes everything from pinquito picanta to pink salt to adobo.
- Like everyone else, I loved the carnitas. Also, check out the chocolate & cinnamon (mole) Popsicle, for dessert!
- Mole to die for, and if they have watermelon...
- The queso fresco, bread & tortillas are made in-house, & sitting at the bar is a pleasure if you're a cocktail fan. Their paloma -- a Mexican tequila drink - is the tastiest we've found.
- Supposedly good tacos, owned by the people that own Nopa
- The pescado tacos are the healthiest option for the best value.
- The carnitas were fantastic but the slaw it came with was just chopped cabbage and carrot. Overall this meal didn't live up to the hype.
