S.Pellegrino Announces The 50 Best Restaurants In Asia For 2015; Gaggan Takes Top Spot

S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna, the same sponsors of the World's 50 Best Restaurant awards, have just announced their 2015 list of the 50 Best Restaurants in Asia.

Since last year, there's been some spot shuffling.

Previously in the 20th spot, Jungsik in Seoul, South Korea took 10th place, followed by Waku Ghin in Singapore in ninth. In Hong Kong, 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo Bombana came in eighth place, and Nahm restaurant in Bangkok, Thailand, which was the top restaurant in 2014, fell to seventh place in 2015.

Next, there was Amber restaurant in Hong Kong, Restaurant André in Singapore, and Nihonryori RyuGin in Tokyo. The top three restaurants for 2015 were Ultraviolet in Shanghai (previously eighth best); Narisawa in Tokyo, which retained its standing from 2014; and finally, the honor of the best restaurant in Asia went to Gaggan in Bangkok, which rose from third place in 2014.

The winning restaurant features modern interpretations of classic Indian cuisine, and its chef, Gaggan Anand, was the first Indian chef ever to train with Ferran Adrià's research team at elBulli.
