Disney World is starting to develop an impressive lineup of celebrity chefs at its new Disney Springs area, formerly known as Downtown Disney.Rick Bayless (Frontera Grill) has announced plans to open Frontera Fresco, his fast casual Mexican eatery concept, in Disney Springs, joining Masaharu Morimoto who already opened Morimoto Asia, and Wolfgang Puck, who will also have two quick service restaurants in the area.
Frontera Fresca is slated to open in summer 2016 and will offer casual takes on Mexican specialties like hand-crafted tortas, tacos, salads, fresh-made guacamole, and braised meat entrées, all made with locally sourced ingredients, as well as an extensive selection of margaritas, cocktails, craft beers, and wine. The 6,000 square-foot space will seat 200 guests.
“Working with Chef Bayless to bring this fresh dining concept to the new Disney Springs is a joy for us, and we can’t wait for guests to experience it,” Richard Debler, president and chief executive officer of Vista Springs, the restaurant operator, said in a statement.
