The New McDonald's Super Mario Toys Look Questionably Potty-Themed

Thanks to the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System Classic loaded with all of the old games from the '80s, Mario, Luigi, and friends have seen a surge in popularity. McDonald's Japan and UK even released a line of Happy Meal figurines based on the popular videogame franchise.

But something peculiar about the Mario figurine has everyone talking. Mario's toy is seated on an unidentifiable throne, presumed to be a toilet. Naturally, jokes have been flooding Twitter:

The toys are due to start selling in the UK on Jan. 11, but have already been spotted in other markets around the world.
