New Cup Noodle Rich Line To Feature Shark Fin And Softshell Turtle Flavors

In celebration of its 45th birthday, Cup Noodles is debuting two new flavors as part of its new 'Cup Noodle Rich' line: Shark Fin and Softshell Turtle. The new line is meant to appeal to "more refined customers," reports Asian Correspondent.

Each cup contains 1,000 milligrams of collagen for a thicker, heartier soup. The controversial Shark Fin flavor thankfully does not contain any actual shark fin, and is instead made from gelatin and served in a Chinese-style chicken and pork soup base mixed with oyster sauce. The Softshell Turtle flavor, however, contains softshell turtle powder.

The new flavors will be available in Japan beginning April 11. True to brand, the luxury noodles do not come with a luxury price tag. They retail for 230 yen ($2 USD), which is only 50 yen ($0.45 USD) more than regular Cup Noodles.

These products and the Cup Noodle Rich line will only be marketed in Japan for the foreseeable future, according to the company. There is a possibility for adding new flavors to the line depending on popularity.

April Fools joke or not, we are intrigued at the prospect of a luxury Cup Noodle line.
