Alain Ducasse, Jose Garces, Amanda Freitag, And Many More Big Chefs Opening Projects At Newark Airport As Part Of Major $120 Million Upgrade

Newark Liberty International Airport will undergo a major, $120 million upgrade to United Airlines Terminal C to be completed in 2016, as we've previously announced, with "more than 55 dining venues made up of 20+ chef-driven restaurants, expansive food halls, gourmet markets, and world-class retail and duty-free shops."

What's more, in collaboration with United Airlines, OTG is also working on a system that will allow travelers to pay for meals with their frequent flier miles.

Regarding those chef-driven concepts (28 according to The New York Times), 24 high-profile chefs will be involved, including prolific haute cuisine chef and restaurateur Alain Ducasse as the consultant for a brasserie called Saison.

Chocolatier Jacques Torres, Dan Kluger (previously ABC Kitchen and ABC Cocina), Einat Admony (Balaboosta, Bar Bolonat), Alex Guarnaschelli (Butter), Amanda Freitag (Empire Diner), Elizabeth Karmel (Carolina Cue To-Go), John DeLucie (Crown, The Lion), Amanda Cohen (Dirty Candy), and Wilson Tang (Nom Wah, Fung Tu) are just a few of the high-profile chefs with upcoming projects at Newark Liberty.

Others, like Josh Capon (El Toro Blanco, The Lure Group) and Mario Carbone (Major Food Group) will have more than one restaurant.
