Here’s what’s happening this month on the L.A. dining scene

Joan's on Third opens in Studio City.

In October, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will offer three new limited-edition beverages: a butter pecan latte, a butter pecan Ice Blended, and a pumpkin chai Ice Blended drink, as well as returning fall favorites such as their pumpkin latte and pumpkin ice blended drink. They will be available through November 2.

The Water Grill’s  downtown location is celebrating National Seafood Month with a variety of new dishes including wild Spanish octopus and Manila clams with chorizo, and roasted shrimp with homemade ravioli.

Kabuki restaurants are kicking off the fall culinary season with a series of sake tours throughout their Southern California locations. Upcoming sake tastings include October 8 in Hollywood, October 9 in Oxnard, and October 29 in Burbank.

Hakkasan Beverly Hills is celebrating its first anniversary by reopening with a new interior inspired by the London flagship. The restaurant is also offering a curated limited-edition culinary program paying tribute to China’s Golden Week through October 12.

Westwood’s Napa Valley Grille launches its new Autumn Harvest menu featuring prosciutto wrapped scallops, Marsala rack of lamb, grilled pork chops, and lamb ragout with pappardelle.

Downtown’s Faith & Flower has launched its new three-course quick lunch menu, designed to accommodate guests with less than an hour for lunch.

Brentwood’s Café Rockenwagner has updated its dinner menu with new authentic German dishes offered in small, medium, and large plates to celebrate Oktoberfest.

Chaya’s downtown location announces a new tuna tartare tableside service during dinner. The new menu item features fresh diced tuna, aioli, capers, pickles, and onions.

October and November is white truffle season, and West Hollywood’s Northern Italian Cecconi’s  has added a variety of new dishes featuring white truffles including hand cut tagliolini, risotto, agnollotti, and pizzas.

Joan’s on Third recently opened a second location in Studio City. The new 4,000-square-foot location brings signature gourmet food and gift items to Ventura Boulevard.

Chef Vic Casanova and restaurateur Seth Glassman have opened Pistola, a modern Italian steakhouse, on Third Street in West Hollywood.

Tender Greens is opening two new locations in October. The chef-driven fast casual dining restaurant will open new outposts in Studio City and downtown L.A.
