The United States Of Sweets: Favorite Halloween Candies From Every State Revealed

Now that we know that Reese's peanut butter cups are far and away America's favorite Halloween candy, how do sweet treat preferences differ by state? A new poll from Influenster created this nifty map infographic, which ranked Halloween candy by state preference, and there were definitely some surprises. While it's no shock that Snickers bars were preferred by two states (Alaska and Illinois), for some reason, Sweet Tarts reigned supreme in New York, while Californians preferred Lifesavers. And candy corn, which ranked low on other lists, was the favorite in five states: Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, Wyoming, and South Carolina.

The survey from Influenster polled more than 40,000 people across the country to determine their candy cravings. The winning Reese's peanut butter cups ranked number one in Rhode Island, and Connecticut, while the smaller Reese's pieces were the favorite in Indiana and Virginia.

For some of the stranger picks, Arizona chose Toblerone, while Laffy Taffy was a hit in Wisconsin and South Dakota. West Virginia seems to be confused about the definition of candy and chose mini Oreos as their number one treat.
