America Ranks Halloween Candies: We Love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, But Hate Candy Corn

When you're a kid, there's nothing quite like Halloween, a day when you can dress up as your favorite princess or superhero and come away with a bag full of candy. But let's face it: Some sweet treats are more exciting than others. Popcorn balls and butterscotch hard candies? Not so much. The crowdsourcing site Ranker recently surveyed 29,000 Americans about the best Halloween candy of all time, and unsurprisingly, the runaway favorite sweet treat was Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, which also coincided with the winner of The Daily Meal's own ranking.

Did you know that candy corn, which is practically synonymous with Halloween, got the lowly ranking of number 25? America's least favorite candy of all time was the retro Bit O' Honey, which was first created in 1924 and features honey-flavored taffy dotted with almond pieces.

However, America's sweet tooth is not a unified front: Women preferred Twix while men picked M&M's as their favorite candy. Millennials liked newer candies like Nestlé's Crunch and York Peppermint Patty, while Baby Boomers stuck with the classics like M&M's and Mike and Ike's.
