Houlihan's To Bring Spiralized Vegetable Trend To Its Menu

Spiralized vegetables are coming to a Houlihan's near you, which is great news for those that don't already own a spiralizer and want to see what all the fuss is about, and for customers looking for healthier menu options at restaurants. The Inspiralized menu was created in collaboration with founder of Inspiralized.com Ali Maffucci.

The menu features three dishes. The Thai Noodle Salad features a Sriracha Thai peanut sauce, which is tossed with spiralized zucchini 'noodles,' mango, red peppers, snow peas, tri-colored quinoa, basil, mint, and almonds. There is an option to add grilled chicken or grilled salmon to the dish. A Sweet Potato, Corn & Bacon Mexicali Flatbread is topped with spiralized sweet potatoes and zucchini, sweet corn, bacon, Greek yogurt white sauce, pickled jalapeños, a blend of cheeses, and avocado salsa. Lastly, the Butternut Squash and Sausage Lasagna has spiralized butternut squash 'noodles,' herbed ricotta, Italian sausage, a sautéed organic kale-spinach-chard blend, marinara, and mozzarella cheese, and is served with a pesto zucchini 'noodle' side salad.

Jen Gulvik, SVP of marketing and creative director for Houlihan's Restaurants, Inc., says, "In partnering with Ali Maffucci, we'll introduce millions of people to this creative way of cooking and eating veggie-forward dishes that are surprisingly delicious. It's unlike anything you'll find in casual dining restaurants. Consumers are looking for ways to reduce sugar and carbs in their diets, and the U.S. Government just announced dietary guidelines for reducing sugar intake. We're hearing that sugar is the new fat. With Houlihan's Inspiralized menu, pasta is replaced with vegetable 'noodles' for reduced carbs and sugar."

The Inspiralized menu will be available at all Houlihan's locations starting tomorrow, February 2, for a limited time only.
