Cecily Strong Will Headline Next White House Correspondents' Dinner

Saturday Night Live cast member Cecily Strong (also known as The Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started a Conversation with at a Party) will headline the White House Correspondents' Dinner next spring, reports Politico.

Cecily, whose father is Bill Strong, former Associated Press bureau chief at the Illinois Statehouse, will be the featured entertainer for more than 2,000 White House guests on April 25, and will follow a monologue from President Obama.

"Her political humor is sly and edgy, and it comes with a Chicago accent," WHCA president Christi Parsons wrote in an email to White House correspondents. "In the 82-year history of our dinner, she'll be the fourth woman to serve in this role."

In 2011, Saturday Night Live alum Seth Meyers served in the same role. Strong later hosted the recurring "Weekend Update" segment with Meyers until he left the show for Late Night with Seth Meyers.
