Is Chris Christie Really Donald Trump's McDonald's Errand Boy?

At one time, many thought that New Jersey governor Chris Christie would be selected as Trump's running mate. He was, after all, one of the first Republican candidates to come out in support of the conservative frontrunner. But a Republican insider tells The New Yorker's Ryan Lizza that Christie has been transformed into a sort-of errand boy/manservant for Trump. He says he received a Snapchat video from a friend showing Christie fetching Trump's McDonald's order.

If this information were true, it'd be a pitiful fall from grace for the politician who has always had ambitious goals. But a representative for Christie has denied the embarrassing rumors, stating that it was a "completely invented scenario."

"We categorically deny this ridiculous, completely invented scenario, which the writer attributed to an unnamed source's anonymous friend," Christie spokesman Brian Murray told Business Insider. "The fact the writer relegated this bit of sleaze between parentheses certainly indicates he knew it was trash that had to be separated from the rest of the story."

A recent poll from Farleigh-Dickinson has found that Christie's gubernatorial approval rating is at 26 percent — an all-time low.
