The World's First Official Nutella Café Is Opening Soon

After years of scooping sticky chocolate hazelnut spread out of the jar, we finally are getting a restaurant dedicated to Nutella. The world's first official Nutella café (no, that illegal one in Brooklyn doesn't count) is opening in Chicago on May 31. Ferrero's Nutella Café will feature all manner of coffee, dessert, and savory items that can be dipped in or coated with the world-famous chocolate spread.

Picture it: grilled baguettes served warm topped with melting Nutella, fresh granola and yogurt with fruit and a dollop of the addictive stuff on top, gelato, "panzanaella" fruit salad, and even lunch items like paninis and salads. We're not really sure if we'd be up to a Nutella Caesar salad, but a Nutella gelato affogato sounds divine.

"We wanted to create a world of Nutella for our fans that could truly capture the essence of the brand — not just in the dishes that will be served, but in the full experience from the moment you step into the space," said Noah Szporn, head of marketing for Nutella North America in a statement. "The Nutella Cafe offers something for everybody, and we encourage everyone to come in and try a dish or snack. We hope Nutella enthusiasts, Chicagoans, and visitors enjoy the cafe as much as we enjoyed creating it."

The first 400 visitors to the café on May 31 will receive a free Nutella menu item.
