This Trump Supporter Left A Huge Tip For His Black Activist Waitress

Who says that people on opposite sides of the aisle can't be friends? Recently, a black waitress was surprised by the $450 tip she received from three Trump supporters after inauguration weekend, and their interaction has gone viral.

Jason White, a Trump supporter from West Texas, was attending the inauguration in Washington, D.C. last weekend. Monday morning, he and his friends stopped in Busboys and Poets, a café dominated by artist minorities and inspired by Langston Hughes. Sensing they were in the minority, the group removed their "Make America Great Again" hats and were waited on by Rosalyn Harris, a black activist who was still high off the energy from the Women's March on Saturday.

Harris and the group of men chatted and made friendly conversation despite their wildly different political backgrounds. She received the surprise of her life when White left her a $450 tip — a nod to the 45th president — on a $72.60 meal with a note that read:

"We may come from different cultures and may disagree on certain issues, but if everyone would share their smile and kindness like your beautiful smile, our country will come together as one people," the note said, according to The Washington Post. "Not race. Not gender. Just American. God Bless!"

Harris, as it turns out, really needed that money and had been worried about making ends meet between her two jobs as a waitress and a professional dancer.

"This definitely reshaped my perspective. Republican, Democrat, liberal are all subcategories to what we are experiencing," she told The Washington Post. "It instills a lot of hope."
