A Taste Of NYC At The Metropolitan Pavilion

Food-lovers, vendors, and restauranteurs gathered for a food- (and drink-) filled event highlighting some of the best the city has to offer at the Metropolitan Pavilion on Friday.

Spring Taste 2016 brought people together to enjoy top eats and to contribute to a good cause. A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to City Harvest, a nonprofit NYC-based organization that helps to feed nearly 1.4 million New Yorkers in need.

More than 60 restaurants, eateries, breweries, distilleries, and dessert spots participated in the event, including Alobar, Theo's NY, Jue Lan Club, L'Arte Del Gelato.

Cuban restaurant Coppelia served Ceviche Limeño, featuring flounder, ahi amarillo, red onion, cilantro, maiz cancha, and sweet potato. ALCHEMIQ Catering's zucchini parmesan lollipops and cocktail made with vodka, tomato water, rice vinegar, and finished with a salt rim were hits with attendees. Gastroteca Astoria offered a taste of its crispy gnocchi with pistachio pesto for guests to try.

For sweets, Mochidoki offered a variety of mocha ice creams for guests to sample: Vanilla Chocolate Chip, Lychee Colada, Raspberry White Chocolate Crunch, and Mochaccino Chip. Butterfly Bakeshop served mini vanilla cakes with salted caramel buttercream.
