Taco Bell Executive Fired After Video Surfaces Of Assault On Uber Driver

A 32-year-old Taco Bell executive has been fired after video footage surfaced of him attacking his Uber driver. Benjamin Golden, a longtime employee, worked in Taco Bell's mobile commerce division.

In the video, Golden is shown as the passenger of a car driven by 23-year-old Uber driver Edward Caban. As Caban repeatedly asks for directions, Golden is unable to answer or even sit up.

Caban, who has turned his dashboard camera to face the interior of the car, finally tells Golden, "You're too drunk to give me directions. I'm kicking you out, man." After arguing with Caban, Golden then opens the door as if to leave, but abruptly changes his mind and begins attacking his driver, forcing Caban to subdue him with pepper spray.

Golden was subsequently arrested by police and charged with assault and public intoxication.

In a statement, Taco Bell confirmed that Golden has been terminated from his position. "Given the behavior of the individual, it is clear he can no longer work for us," the fast food chain said. "We have also offered and encouraged him to seek professional help."
