Streets International's Annual Tasting Benefit Returns May 19

On Tuesday, May 19, New York City's top chefs and mixologists will participate in the 8th annual Streets Eats, an annual tasting event to benefit Streets International, a nonprofit that operates as part hospitality school, part restaurant café in Hội An, Vietnam. Streets Eats will be held at The Astor Center from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Through the program, disadvantaged local youth have the chance to develop culinary and business skills in order to gain financial security.

The 18-month-long program provides children of developing countries with the chance to gain work experience in hotels and restaurants, as well as other areas of the hospitality industry.

Guest chefs from all over New York City will serve their interpretation of Southeast Asian street foods, complemented by a bar with signature cocktails throughout the evening. Wylie Dufresne (Alder), PJ Calapa (Ai Fiori), Aaron Bludorn (Café Boulud), Leah Cohen (Pig & Khao), and Daniel Holzman and Michael Chernow (The Meatball Shop) are among the participating chefs.
