Sandra Lee Hospitalized For Possible Surgery-Related Infection

Sandra Lee, the Food Network personality and longtime partner of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday night, August 4, her representatives have confirmed.

"There was a setback due to what may be an infection post-mastectomy," a member of Lee's team told ABC News. "But Sandra is her ever-fighting self."

In May, Lee successfully completed a bilateral mastectomy shortly after she publically announced her breast cancer diagnosis on Good Morning America, and used the opportunity to encourage women to undergo regular screenings. Her current hospitalization period, which is expected to last a few days, is believed to be due to a painful buildup of fluid in the area where the surgery was performed.

Lee was "conscious and alert" when she was brought to the hospital, according to Page Six.

Gov. Cuomo, who was not with his girlfriend at the time, left a concert to meet her at the hospital.
