Pizza Hut Is Celebrating The Stuffed Crust's Anniversary By Giving Away $1 Million

Two decades ago, the world was introduced to the cheesiest innovation in pizza technology yet: the stuffed crust pizza. Invented by Pizza Hut in 1995, according to the company, it was the first pie to inspire people to eat backwards. (We also now have over-the-top bacon- and hot dog-stuffed crusts from Pizza Hut, but that's beside the point).

Pizza Hut is combining the basketball frenzy of March Madness with the celebration of eating backward by encouraging fans to enter to win a trip to Indianapolis and a $1 million grand prize. If you're selected, be sure to brush off your hoops skills, because participants will be asked to sink a shot at half court, backwards. A grand prize winner will walk away from the court with backwards bragging rights and a cool $1 million.

There are ways to celebrate if your court skills aren't up to snuff. On April 9, if any participant makes their shot, the whole nation will get 50 percent off a Pizza Hut order. To celebrate 20 years all month long, you can order a stuffed crust pizza for $9.99.
