Paula Deen Opens Paula Deen's Family Kitchen In Tennessee

Get ready, Tennessee: Paula Deen is coming. The "Belle of Southern Cuisine" will open Paula Deen's Family Kitchen in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on April 27. The restaurant will sit 300, with sprawling views of the Smoky Mountains. Her menu will feature big bowls of Southern classics like fried chicken and biscuits, fried okra, sweet corn, and sweet potatoes, and is supposed to be a throwback to the nostalgic home-cooked family meal.

"Paula Deen's Family Kitchen is filled with love and mouthwatering flavors," Deen said. "I can hardly wait to bring some of my favorite Southern dishes from my Savannah restaurant to the Great Smoky Mountains. We are going to serve our meals family style, with big ol' bowls on the table." She also told E! News that the restaurant will have a feel-good atmosphere, and will "fill your souls, as well as your bellies."

Deen is in the midst of a career comeback after a falling out with Food Network for hurling a racial slur. Over the past year, she launched a cooking game app, announced the publication of her first healthy cookbook, and started her own 24/7 digital network.
