Patrons And Fans Raise More Than $22K For Pizzeria Targeted By Fake Clinton Scandal

A wild conspiracy theory involving Hillary Clinton and a child sex ring supposedly operating out of a kid-friendly Washington, D.C. pizzeria led to a lone gunman firing off rounds inside the aforementioned Comet Ping Pong pizzeria last week. No one was hurt, but since then the restaurant has been harassed with phone calls, online posts, and threatening visits.

Now that the dust has somewhat settled, the pizzeria owners have set up a GoFundMe page and a fundraising event to help pay for ramped-up security, physical damages to the restaurant, and legal representation. The Stand With Comet fundraiser took place over the weekend, and the Comet Ping Pong GoFundMe has raised $22,336 in just three days, at the time of publication.

"Comet Ping Pong is so thankful for the incredible love and compassion that has been directed toward us and our community," the owners said in a post on their GoFundMe page. "We are grateful for the support of our dedicated customers who have come to visit with us these past few days."

Comet Ping Pong was closed Monday of last week and reopened Tuesday.
