Now you can get real-time updates on hot restaurants with open reservations.

Usually when you’re browsing OpenTable, you’ll look up reviews of a restaurant and then check to see if there’s availability before making a reservation.

But now with the new features on the OpenTable app, you can check out hot restaurants nearby in real time.

The new discover tab allows users to scope out recently opened restaurants with high scores, nearby restaurants with the highest popularity scores, restaurants divided into occasion types, nearby restaurants with immediate availability, and dining spots with availability later that evening, as well as rotating editorial picks.

“Whether you’re landing hungry on the tarmac in a new city or planning a last minute date night in your local neighborhood, OpenTable wants to be the dining concierge in your pocket,” Christa Quarles, OpenTable CEO, said in a statement. “Dining has never been more mobile and our new app experience helps diners discover the perfect restaurant to satisfy every occasion, mood and craving whether they’re at home or on the road.”
