Northern Tiger, From The Yunnan Kitchen Team, Opens At Brookfield Place On March 18

On Wednesday, March 18, restaurateur Erika Chou and chef Doron Wong of Yunnan Kitchen, one of New York City's Bib Gourmand restaurants from the Michelin Guide, will open Northern Tiger, the 14th and final restaurant at Brookfield Place in downtown Manhattan.

Focusing on the cuisine of Northern China, the restaurant will feature ingredients from local New York farms to create a menu that includes a variety of noodle dishes, dumplings, and salads.

Dishes include Beijing zha jiang mian, with heritage pork belly, soybean, radish, and cucumber; braised beef noodle soup with beef shank, doubanjiang (chili bean paste), and chard; heritage pork and chive dumplings, Long Island duck and leek dumplings; and seasonal salads, like the chrysanthemum tiger salad with kombucha vinaigrette.

Northern Tiger will feature Kombucha Brooklyn on tap, as well as a rotating local draft beer. Dessert will center around soft serve ice cream, with innovative flavors like strawberry and Sichuan peppercorn and Ovaltine.

"With the opening of our second restaurant, we're so excited to continue to expand on New Yorkers' perception of Chinese cuisine," said Erika Chou. "Doron and I are committed to sourcing the freshest possible produce and pairing it with farm-raised local proteins to bring guests traditional, familiar Chinese flavors at a heightened level of quality."
